In our Cattery we use  “ Anna  Designer Pet Line “, natural and organic shampoo, face wash and powder for Persian kittens and adults .

Along with sleep , grooming is probably one of the cat’s biggest activities, to such an extent that Pasteur is credited with saying ,

“ cats are clean animals because they spend all day grooming themselves “  In addition to the cleaning function in the strict sense of the word , grooming has an important calming effect . When cats lick themselves or when they are licked by another ( as with kittens licked by their mother ) , endorphin production is triggered , the same hormones that are produced to counteract the sensation of pain.

With Persian cats ,brushing is imperative. If kitten is not patient enough , several short brushing sessions could be done.

We use Teflon brushes , first we use wide side and then brush it with narrow side . This will help to get rid of knots, little pieces  of matted fur .

Then you can use soft brush , it will  helps restore the fullness and fluffiness of the fur.

The Bath

Almost all cats hate water . Your cat need to become accustomed to baths as young as possible, around the age of 3 months. The room where you will bath and dry your cat should be well heated and free of drafts. Start by filling your bathtub with 1 -2 inch of  warm water . Gently place your cat inside while talking softly to it and petting it to reassure it. Use a cup to gently wet its body , petting it all the while . Be sure not to let water run into its eyes or ears . Once the cat is thoroughly wet  , you may apply a special cat shampoo . Rub its whole body well , taking care to get o its paws , tail and stomach. After the first shampoo , rinse the cat with a hand—held shower before repeating the procedure again.

Rinsing is very important . Use the shower but be sure not to get water in its eyes or ears. Once the cat is thoroughly rinsed wrap it in a clean  warm towel and rub it down well to remove excess water.
